Hannah Streetman is the founder of Dingbat Editing, a book editing business with a focus on developmental editing of genre fiction. This career move comes after a decade of part-time freelance editing alongside a range of roles across the publishing and nonprofit worlds. With clients ranging from independent authors to the Andrea Brown Literary Agency, she has the privilege of working on award-winning and New York Times–bestselling titles. She serves on the Publishing Professionals Against Book Bans Media Committee and is a member of the Northwest Editors Guild, LGBTQ+ Editors Association, Editorial Freelancers Association, ACES: The Society for Editing, and the National Association of Independent Writers and Editors.
She earned a B.A. in creative writing and certificates in editing and content development from Western Washington University, along with a certificate in graphic design from Parsons School of Design. She continued with an immersive education into the craft of editing and the business of books with an editorial apprenticeship, an internship with Sasquatch Books, the Columbia Publishing Course, and a specialization in developmental editing from the University of Washington.
Before Dingbat, Hannah also coordinated conferences and events for the Association for Rural and Small Libraries and Washington Library Association, edited and fact checked trivia for Sporcle, and interned for the Chuckanut Writers Conference.
Originally from outside of Denver, she now lives near Seattle with her partner, their two cats, and her Chicago Manual of Style.
